Guide / Controlled delivery

Secure delivery of medical imaging datasets

Secure medical imaging data delivery is the final controlled stage of an approved programme. MedCorpora can package authorized DICOM, derived files and linked tables with encryption, recipient access controls, immutable manifests, transfer verification, acceptance records and programme-specific retention or deletion terms.

What the programme covers

Delivery is not simply uploading files. The release must match the approved cohort, privacy output and licence; the recipient must be authorized; and both parties need evidence that the exact package arrived intact.

02

What a useful specification includes

A defensible request defines the clinical task, source evidence and acceptance criteria before patient-level data moves. The exact fields and thresholds depend on the intended model claim.

  • Approved recipient and access model
  • Required DICOM, derivatives and linked tables
  • Encryption and transfer channel
  • Folder, object and manifest conventions
  • Acceptance tests and issue-resolution window
  • Retention, onward use and deletion obligations
03

Quality and validation controls

Release engineering compares the outgoing package against the frozen cohort manifest and records checksums, file counts, versions and transformation lineage. Failed or partial transfers do not become accepted releases.

  • Recipient and authorization verification
  • Package-to-manifest reconciliation
  • Encryption and access-control checks
  • Checksum and transfer-completeness validation
  • Acceptance, retention and deletion records
04

Availability, rights and delivery

The specific channel depends on programme terms and buyer requirements. Public descriptions do not imply open download, unrestricted redistribution or blanket ownership of source records.

Public pages describe a sourcing and engineering capability, not guaranteed ready inventory. Each release remains subject to verified programme inventory, programme-specific authorization, privacy review, technical acceptance and buyer licence terms.

Questions, answered directly.

Can a dataset be downloaded publicly?

MedCorpora's published operating model uses controlled programme access rather than unrestricted public download.

What proves the package was not altered?

Versioned manifests and checksums can verify file identity and completeness.

Can derived files be included with DICOM?

Yes when approved, with mappings and transformation rules connecting them to source data.

Does delivery transfer ownership of hospital records?

No. The buyer receives only the rights stated in the programme-specific licence.
